The 1969 Ford Cobra: Take it to the Next Level

car accessories products

Larry was amazed at the originality and design of the 1969 Ford Cobra his first time seeing it. It was in a stunning condition, and still had its Raven Black paint finish. Although it needed a new paint job to make it more unique than Larry believed, the car was otherwise in great condition. This Cobra had spent its entire life in Wisconsin and had hardly been driven since new. Larry's plan for bringing the car to the next step was simple.

1969 Ford Cobra

This 1969 Ford Cobra car is a reference-quality muscle car and an investment grade vehicle. It's the best car in any collection, with two long-term owners and more than $75,000 of investment. National Muscle Cars is selling it now. The car is available in three options: R, base, or RS. For this configuration, the engine is removed from the car and the transmission and transaxle are installed in the front.

This Ford is the most powerful car in 1969. The Cobra four speed transmission makes 335 horsepower. It comes standard with competition suspension. Motor Trend tested the Cobra 4x4 and it was able to complete the quarter-mile in 14.5 secs. Ram Air, which is part of the Cobra's Ram Air system, kept the driver stable and didn't cause motion sickness. Although the suspension is capable to turn sharp corners, it can also cause problems.

1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

This rare 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra model was limited in production. It came with a 5.0 liter V8 engine, tuned for greater power. This car was factory rated at 235 horsepower and 280 pounds-feet. The Mustang GT was the basis for the SVT tuning team's performance, so the car's heads were changed to GT40 parts. Other changes to the engine included a modified intake manifold and camshafts. It also featured vented disc brakes.

The engine was powered a 302CI engine with 235 horsepower. It was fitted with GT-40 "High Flow" Cast Iron heads with larger valves and intake port designs. These heads were equipped with GT-40 lower intakes manifolds. They also had a special tubular cast aluminium upper intake based on the GT-40. The GT-40 manifold was designed to divert air into several rectangular ports. H.O. had a larger throttle body for the Mustang Cobra. spec engines.

1999-2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

SVT offered a convertible performance Ford Mustang SVT Cobra from 1999 to 2004. It used the same V6 engine, but was modified to improve its handling and performance. The Cobra received an aluminum flywheel in addition to its V6 engine. It also featured an upgraded suspension with individual damping rate. The car's suspension system was forged with 245/45ZR-17 BFGoodrich Comp/A tires. Its distinctive sound playback began as a low growl at moderate cornering speeds and grew into a penetrating howl at the limit of the car's performance.

SVT engineers attempted to reduce weight by taking 50 pounds off the front of the car. Twenty of this weight came from the engine, while six pounds were removed from the Cobra's coil-on-plug direct ignition system. The new Mustang SVT Cobra's 55/45 fore/aft ratio is about one foot smaller than the predecessor. The new SVT Cobra weighs 110 more than the previous model.

They are more robust and can withstand pressure better. The supercar comes with fans and a "line lock", which disables the rear brakes when there is a burnout.

The 2010 Cobra Jet is a basic white Mustang. Watson Engineering then installs a cage and other modifications. It also receives a NHRA-legal rear seats delete panel, firewall, transmission access panels, and a firewall. It is then shipped back home to AAI, where the new Cobra Jet performance logo and name are applied.
