Shelby's GT500 Super Snake GT500 muscle car is undoubtedly one of the best.

The 1967 Shelby GT500 was one of the fastest muscle cars of all time, and the GT500 had sold well. Shelby American built a GT500 super-performance version after seeing the GT350's performance in the Le Mans race. The performance of the super Snake was enhanced by a custom engine, exhaust system, and unique paint scheme featuring three Le Mans racing stripes. The Super Snake made its way to Goodyear to participate in a series race.

Ford Mustang Boss 302 has been a favorite of muscle car enthusiasts

The 1970 Mustang Boss 302 Mustang Boss 302 is one Ford performance car that can outperform any competitor. The legendary muscle car is up for sale on Mecum. It's expected to go for between $110,000- $130,000. This car could be worth more by May 21. But before you start bidding, here are some facts to keep in mind about this classic. Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper is now the classic. The relationship between the vehicle and its owner has been a love-hate affair. Some admire its unbridled determination, while others dismiss it like a loose cannon. In its early years, the Viper was a raging hot rod without much in the way of safety features. The Vipers' earliest years were also without air conditioning.

FAQ

Can I work as an auto mechanic without a degree? Can I do part-time studies?

A degree isn't necessary, but it certainly helps. Employers are more likely to hire candidates who have completed a complete degree. This shows you have put in the work and achieved success.

This doesn't necessarily mean you can't continue to work while studying. Many universities permit students to take courses during the summer holidays, and then finish their studies in the fall. Others let students take classes part-time throughout the year.

What jobs are available for car mechanics?

Three main areas of employment are available for car mechanics:

  • Automotive repair shops
  • Dealerships
  • Independent garages

Automotive repair shops

It's where most people start to think about becoming a mechanic. In fact, it's probably the easiest way to get started. You have two options: work in an existing shop or open your own.

If you decide to work at a shop, you'll need to apply to join a union. After being accepted into the union, the union will provide training.

After the training, you will be ready to go and start your job.

If you decide to open your own garage, you'll need to register with the government. After you register, you will be required to meet specific standards.

After you have registered, you will be issued a license to operate your garage.

You can sell spare parts or do minor repairs with your license. You can't fix major engine problems with your license.

Customers will expect you to not only sell spare parts but also provide advice and guidance.

Dealership jobs

Most dealerships only employ mechanics who have a specific skill set. They may be trained to replace or repair tires, or they may specialize in brakes.

However, some dealerships also hire general mechanics who can handle all aspects of car repairs.

These positions may require applicants to complete specific training before being allowed on the job. This allows employers to select the most qualified candidates for their roles.

Some dealerships even recruit graduates straight from university. These graduates are familiar with the fundamentals of mechanical engineering so they can easily learn about cars.

Independent garages

Independent garages don't belong to any particular dealership. Instead, they tend to focus on providing high-quality service.

Independent garages can pay higher wages because they aren't associated with any company. Because these jobs don't have to be associated with any company, they can generally offer better wages than dealerships.

Independent garages can be just as good places to work, but this does not mean they are better. Many business owners prefer to own their businesses and not delegate the responsibility to others.

You may find yourself working for long hours and not having control over the day.

Additionally, you should expect to earn lower wages if employed by a dealership.

The good news is that you can easily switch between different kinds of jobs. Ask your employer if you would like to work as a mechanic at a dealership.

Alternativly, you can apply directly to the garage owner if you are interested in working at an independent garage.

It's not always easy to find a job. There are many factors that affect how much you make.

You might also consider the vehicle type you repair, and whether extra labor is charged.

How long does a good mechanic take?

Expert mechanics take years of practice and extensive experience. Working under the guidance of a professional mechanic is the best way to learn how repair cars.

You'll have to spend time at a garage learning all you can about cars and mechanics. Mechanical engineering books will be required to learn about mechanics and design.

Additionally, you will need to attend an auto school.

The most important thing is to start early. Don't wait until you're older to begin studying automotive technology. Do you want to be a mechanic? Get started today!

Is it hard to be a mechanic apprentice?

It's not simple, but you can learn quickly and there are many avenues for advancement.

You will need patience and perseverance. Also, you must know how to fix trucks, cars, and motorcycles.

Customers and family members will put pressure on your shoulders to help you succeed. You shouldn't feel pressured to make decisions that you don't like.

If you enjoy fixing cars, it could be a great career choice. It is a job you can get a decent salary for and help build your business.

But you may prefer another path. Consider becoming a technician.

This is where you use your technical skills to support other workers. This could be a way to help technicians with their problems or to teach them new techniques.

You can also become a service advisor. This is where you can offer advice and assistance to customers who bring their vehicles to a garage.

The decision you make will depend on what you are looking for. There are many choices available and you can choose what suits you best.

Is it worth being a mechanic.

This question is dependent on your life goals. If you are looking to make money, then yes. But if meaning and purpose is what you seek, then no.

It's not worth learning mechanics if you don’t have the skills. You'll waste your time. It's not going make you millionaire. You won't become famous. It is unlikely that your life will change.

You'd have to spend years learning how things work. This would mean that you would have to pay someone else for your car's repair. That's why most people don't bother doing it at all. They find something better.

Let's sum it up: If you want to make a lot of money, then do so. The mechanic's profession is not the right place for you if it means that you will live a fulfilled life.

How To

How to become an automotive technician

An automotive technician performs repairs and maintains vehicles. He/she works at automotive shops, garages or service centers. He/she works with customers to repair their cars and trucks, ATVs or snowmobiles. An automotive technician must be able to diagnose problems and make repairs quickly, safely, accurately, and efficiently.

If you want to be an automotive technician, you need an associate degree from vocational school. After completing this program, he/she must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Two sections make up the ASE certification examination. One section tests knowledge of mechanical components, while the other section tests skills in practical areas. To take the test, you must visit one of the approved testing locations. These testing sites can be found online and through your local dealer.

After passing the test, a candidate must pass a state examination before becoming licensed as an automotive technician. It varies depending on the location of the applicant. Some states require that candidates attend training courses, while others permit them to learn independently. Some states permit technicians to work immediately after they are granted their license. Others require them to wait at least six consecutive months before they can be licensed.

An applicant should apply to a local auto shop in order to start their career as an automotive technician. Most employees who are hired start as apprentices. Apprenticeships last for three years. The apprenticeship program teaches students how to change oil, adjust brakes, replace tires, clean spark plugs, inspect engine compartments, and perform routine maintenance. Some students learn how to do advanced repairs, such as installing air filters, replacing shocks, repairing engines, and replacing transmission fluids. Schools offer classes during business hours. However, there are some schools that offer evening classes for those who need them.

Once a student is done with his/her apprenticeship he/she can become a master journeyman. Journeymen can spend up to five years learning how major systems work, including transmissions, differentials. They also learn how to adjust steering gear and suspensions. You will also learn how to repair complicated electrical components, as well as how to remanufacture engines and rebuild transmissions. Many employers prefer to hire Journeymen because they understand the job well.

If a candidate successfully passes the required exams and receives a license, he/she might want to consider starting his/her own shop. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there were nearly 1.7 million jobs available for automotive mechanics in 2010. This number is expected to increase by 18% between 2009 and 2020. The candidate should expect to invest thousands of money in equipment and supplies if he/she decides to start his/her shop.

There are many factors that affect the salary of an automotive technician, such as where they live, their education and experience. A jobless person can expect to make $20,000 per year. A high school diploma is all that's required to earn approximately $21,000 annually. Those with an associate's degree earned approximately $24,000 per year. A technician with a bachelor's degree earned approximately $27,000 annually. Masters' degree holders earn around $32,000 per annum. Salary increases are common so professionals who make less than $30,000 a year could realistically expect to earn $40,000 over the next few years.
