Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V

The Nissan Sentra is cool, despite the name. It isn't a Porsche but it does have a lot of potential making it a cool car. This budget sports sedan has a surprising good handling score. VQ35 engine makes a great addition for a number of Nissan models. Although it's not the fastest car on block, the sedan is adequate for daily driving.

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner

If you're looking for a cool car that will get you from A to B in no time, then the Toyota Tacoma X-Runner might be just the vehicle for you. Although the X-Runner replaced the Tacoma's S-Runner model in 2004, it was also intended to keep Toyota's dominance in the muscle-truck market. Ford and Dodge were pushing the low-slung muscle car look hard, but Toyota chose a conservative approach. It still looked great 10 years later.

Ford Mustang GT

The Ford Mustang GT model is the latest version. GT stands as "Grand Touring." It can sprint from zero to sixty mph in 3.5 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 200 mph. The Mustang can also reach higher speeds with its optional performance package. Adjustable dampers and a Torsen Limited-Slip Rear Differential enhance the car's performance. Jack Roush, founder, supercharged the car’s 5.0-liter V-8. It has gloss-black wheels and was the first of these models to be built.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The latest version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class will feature augmented reality overlays on its head-up display, or HUD. This technology has been used by Mercedes-Benz in embedded navigation systems, and will project helpful information onto the windshield. It will, for example, show turn arrows as well as the address of a nearby residence. This is an exciting feature. Here are some other cool things to look forward to in the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Lamborghini Urus

The Lamborghini Urus, while it is difficult to believe, is a real car! It is a supercar with front engines, and it's not a v10 or a v12. Instead, it features a twin turbo V8 that produces 641 HP and is powerful enough for a top speed of 191 mph. This car is definitely not for the faint of heart, and it's an absolute blast to drive!

FAQ

What length is an automotive mechanic apprenticeship?

The apprenticeship to become an automotive mechanic takes about three years. This includes two years in school and two as an apprentice. The first year teaches you all aspects, from theory to practical skills and safety procedures. You will also learn to use tools efficiently and safely during this period. After completing the first year, you'll then spend another year on-the-job training where you'll gain experience in different areas of the trade. You'll have the opportunity to attend formal courses during these periods too.

The last year of the program is dedicated to gaining certification and qualifications in the field. These include NVQs. They are awarded after passing exams on specific topics within the industry. The HNCs (Higher National Certificates), on the other hand, cover general subjects like customer service and management. Finally, there are City & Guilds certificates that are offered for those who wish to become qualified in certain trades.

How long does it take to become a good mechanic?

Expert mechanics take years of practice and extensive experience. It is best to learn how to fix cars under the supervision and guidance of a professional mechanic.

You will be required to spend time at a car garage learning as much as you can about cars. Mechanical engineering books will be required to learn about mechanics and design.

And you'll also need to attend auto school.

The most important thing to do is start early. Do not wait to learn automotive technology. You can get certified as a mechanic by getting started right away!

What does it matter which college I attend?

It's not true. There's no difference between colleges regarding getting into the automotive industry. You will find that some schools offer better programs than others. If you are looking for something more specific, consider going to another school.

To work as an automotive mechanic, do I need a degree? Can I do part-time studies?

While a degree is not required, it does help. Most employers prefer candidates who have studied for a full degree rather than those who haven't. It shows that you've put the effort in and have done everything possible to succeed.

It doesn't mean that you can't work while you study. Some universities allow students the flexibility to finish coursework during summer vacations and resume their studies later in year. Students can also take classes part time throughout the academic year.

How To

How to become an automotive technician

An automotive technician provides repair services and maintenance to vehicles. He/she works at automotive shops, garages or service centers. He/she works with customers to repair their cars and trucks, ATVs or snowmobiles. An automotive technician must know how to diagnose problems and perform repairs efficiently, safely, accurately, quickly, and correctly.

An associate degree should be obtained from a vocational school if you wish to work as an auto technician. After completing this program, he/she must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands as American Society of Mechanical Engineers. There are two parts to the ASE certification exam. The first section tests the ability to use mechanical knowledge. The second section tests the ability to apply practical skills. You will need to attend an authorized testing site in order to pass the test. These testing sites can be found online and through your local dealer.

Before becoming an automotive technician, a candidate must pass the test. It varies depending on the location of the applicant. Some states require that candidates attend training courses, while others permit them to learn independently. In addition, some states license technicians immediately after they receive their license, while others wait until they have completed at least six months of employment as an automotive technician.

A person must apply to an auto dealership in order to get started as an automobile technician. Most new employees begin as apprentices once they are hired. Apprenticeships typically last three years. Students learn basic repair skills such as changing oil and adjusting brakes, changing tires, cleaning spark plugs and inspecting engine compartments. Advanced repairs can be done by some students, including replacing shocks, installing air filters and repairing engines. Schools offer classes during business hours. However, there are some schools that offer evening classes for those who need them.

Once a student is done with his/her apprenticeship he/she can become a master journeyman. Journeymen typically spend four to five years learning how to install major systems, such as transmissions, differentials, steering gear, suspensions, and drive shafts. Journeymen also learn to fix complicated problems, such as rebuilding engines or troubleshooting electric components. Because they have a good understanding of the job and what customers expect, many employers prefer to hire journeymen.

After passing the exams, candidates may be eligible to open their own shop if they pass all requirements. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were almost 1.7 million available jobs in the automotive mechanic field in 2010. That number was expected to grow by 18 percent from 2009 to 2020. When a candidate plans to open his/her own shop he/she should be ready to invest thousands of dollars in equipment.

The salary for an automotive technician depends on several factors, including the type of employer, location, education level, and experience. A jobless person can expect to make $20,000 per year. An individual with a high school diploma can earn about $21,000 per annum. Those with an associate's degree earned approximately $24,000 per year. A technician with a bachelor's degree earned approximately $27,000 annually. The average annual salary for those with master's degrees was $32,000. A common trend is for salary increases to occur so a professional making less than $30,000 can reasonably expect to be earning $40,000 or more within a few years.
